Little girls donning aprons

Helping knot each other's ties

Giggling with excitement

For today we're making pies!

 

Fetch the shortning and the Sugar

Dip into the four bin

Chatter as we measure

Then pull out the rolling pin.

 

Oh what fun to roll the dough

And flute the crusts just so

But best of all should you query

Is the chance to snitch the huckleberries.

 

The holidays are times when we do things together as a family. Making Pies has always been one of my favorite activities. I loved cooking with my sisters when we were all together and with my daughters whenever I can.
