To Our House For Tea

 

On Monday the Elephant came

To our house for tea.

Just getting him in the door

Was something to see.

 

The Giraffe, he came on Tuesday;

He sat out on the lawn.

We had to eat up on the roof;

His neck it was that long.

 

On Wednesday we had Wally

This Walrus was no fool;

He hung out in our bathtub,

Just to stay cool.

 

The Monkeys came on Thursday

They partied all day long.

They made such a racket

We were glad when they were gone.

 

Frosty came on Friday

He was a Polar Bear

He ate very daintily

The table and the chair.

 

On Saturday an Alligator

Slithered through our door

He couldn't sit up in a chair

So we all ate on the floor.

 

The Peacock came on Sunday

Posed, Paraded all around

He was quite a looker,

But he didn't make a sound.

 

Next week we won't entertain

We've got to build a pool

We're expecting a Humpback Whale

In a week or two.
